A little about April

I'm a front-end web developer of 5+ years who's in love with the visual design of things and learning about user experience. For 2 of those years, I've also had leadership experience over a team of web developers.

  • Diligently maintained Learning Management System for faculty.
  • Facilitated training session with faculty regarding campus-wide software (Moodle, Canvas, Zoom, Adobe Connect).
  • Used my detail-oriented approach for quality assurance checks of course material to comply with the American Disabilities Act.
  • Actively listened and used quick problem-solving to provide technical support for Tseng College.

META+LAB Immersive Program (Front-End Explorer, UI/UX Explorer)

Northridge, California || Summer 2017
  • A summer internship opportunity at student-run agency of California State University, Northridge.
  • Applied various web development tools into projects and intern challenges, such as: JIRA, Git, GitHub, Sublime, WebStorm, SASS, Laravel, and BEM.
  • Applied various web design tools and concepts into projects and intern challenges, such as: wireframing, prototyping, style guides, mockups, and Adobe XD.
  • Collaborated with teams of multiple disciplines to achieve results in a Scrum setting.

META+LAB Pathfinder Program

  • A 14-week program that served as a pre-requisite for the META+LAB Explorer internship.
  • Learned about the general tools and knowledge used in web development, such as front-end web development, back-end web development, operations/infrastructure, project management, version control, accessibility, programming conventions, and developer libraries.
  • Quickly executed and enforced what we learned into impromptu mini-challenges issued by META+LAB employees during program lectures.

National Center On Deafness, Northridge || Fall 2017 - May 2018
Front-End Developer, UX/UI Designer

  • Senior design project at California State University, Northridge
  • Designed the wireframes, prototypes, and UI for the website.
  • Developed for the National Center On Deafness at CalState Northridge, intended for use by deaf students and hired captionists in class lectures.
  • Spearheaded the implementaion for the front-end, and worked with Vue.js and Bootstrap for the front-end frameworks.

A WordPress site for a medical billing company that focuses on plastic surgery and dermatology.

Every part of this site was fun to work on, as the client wanted a really fun site to look at. The sections with animated backgrounds also include the company's logo!

Eagle Converting is a custom-print tape manufacturer based in the LA County. Their business model is B2B, and they specialize in manufacturing custom-printed tape for over 20 years.

The different categories of tapes are implemented using WordPress's custom post types.
